Currently working with Kathy Hopper, on restoration of numerous wooden carvings that have been damaged by fire or natural elements. Many parts have to be built up or replaced, while still maintaining the integrity of the piece.

With a little help from my friends

Originally carved by John Hooper for the Bay View Elementary School, this carving was badly burnt, receiving extensive damage to the head, hands and upper body. Kathy Hooper and I have started the restoration by sanding down the body and filling any voids left by the fire. New carvings for head and hands were undertaken.

Post Office figures

This was one of John Hooper's first large commissions in New Brunswick. Canada Post and the City of Saint John worked together to have the pieces restored and they now are temporally placed in the New Brunswick Museum in Saint John.

Roy's Restoration

"Roy" is another piece carved by John Hooper. After spending many years looking out over the Bay of Fundy, Roy now needs a little TLC. This restoration will be starting soon. Check back for updates on this piece.

Crucifix

This outdoor crucifix was carved six years ago. Due to recent rennovations to the site, it will be moved to a new site. The piece was carved in basswood, coated with epoxy and then painted. It will be restored, repainted and installed in the spring.
